Are you qualified?I am a qualified Counsellor based in the Sunshine Coast and have current registration with the Australain Counselling Association (ACA). I hold a Diploma of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and a Diploma of Disability. I am trained in person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and more. I utilise a variety of interventions based on my clients needs. I have previously worked with organisations as a parent counsellor, providing information, support and advocacy for parents of children with disability.

How long are the sessions?Sessions run for 50 minutes.

Are the counselling sessions confidential?Yes, all counselling sessions are confidential. The only exceptions to confidentiality are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if I am required by law. I adhere to strict professional and ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy is protected.

How do I book a counselling session:To book a session, please either contact us by phone, or send us a message or email through our contact form. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible. We like to have a chat over the phone before we book to make sure you feel comfortable with us.

How much are the sessions?Each session is $100.00. Sessions in your home, may have a small travel fee, depending on your location. If you would like in home sessions, please contact us to discuss the fee.

What happens if I have to cancel?Up to 48 hours prior to session appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled at no charge. Between 48 hours and 24 hours prior to session a fee of 50% will be charged for cancellations and rescheduling. Cancellations/rescheduling less than 24 hours or NO shows to appointment will be charged 100% of the fee. Extenuating circumstances can be discussed with us and decisisions are at the business discretion.

Do you provide Crisis Counselling?No we are not a crisis service and we don’t offer out of hours support – unless you have an appointment scheduled. If you are experiencing a serious mental health crisis that may be leading to thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Please contact the free 24-hour counselling service Lifeline on 131 114. If you are concerned about someone’s safety or your own please contact the Police.

Where are the sessions held and do you offer Telehealth?Sessions may be held in our suite in Alexandra Headland, in your home if you live in the Sunshine Coast (these may incur a small travel fee, depending on your location) or via telehealth.
